KKU joins Khon Kaen Province to expedite mitigation of poverty and lessen gaps

Khon Kaen Province is stepping forward for mitigation of poverty, lessening of gaps, and development of Khon Kaen citizens of all age ranges, through collaboration with the governmental sector, private sector, civil society and academic institutions to propel the strategy: “Kaen Khoon’s support – Khon Kaen people never neglect one another”.

January 27, 2022 – Assoc. Prof. Rangsan Niamsanit, Director of the Strategic Institute for Coordination in Northeast Development, Khon Kaen University signed an MOU with Khon Kaen Province. Dr. Somsak Jungtrakoon signed for the Province. The MOU is aimed at integrating works under the concept: “People’s State” and the principle of sufficiency economy.

The work is to do away with poverty which covers 5 dimensions: health, living, education, income, and state’s welfare. The goal is achievement in upgrading the quality of life of poor households so that they are out of “poverty” and can rely sustainably on themselves. The project is under the strategy, “Kaen Khoon’s support – Khon Kaen people never neglect one another”. Under the project, poverty will be eliminated, gaps will be decreased, and Khon Kaen people of all age ranges will be developed to become important resources in the concrete propulsion of Khon Kaen Province to  become Khon Kaen Smart City.
