December 28, 2022 – Khon Kaen University held an MOU signing ceremony between the University and Origin Property Public Company Limited. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University signed the MOU for KKU and Mr. Peerapong Jaroon-ek, Managing Director of Origin Property Public Company signed for Origin. Administrators of both parties attended the ceremony as witnesses. The event was held at Sarasin Room, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.
The MOU signing between Khon Kaen University and Origin Property Public Company Limited is meant for joint collaboration for conducting the Origin Khon Kaen Valley Project. In this project, programs in different fields will be co-designed for students and graduates to possess the required traits and qualities of different organizations and job market. The other objective is to open a venue for KKU students’ practicum, and a chance for students to work under the Origin Company network. Students will be enhanced in terms of skills and competency that are in accordance with the requirements of the business sector and the job market. As such, Khon Kaen City will step forward to being a national Hub of Talents.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University explained that the collaboration with Origin Property Public Company Limited will be a link that transfers KKU’s expertise to the business sector, and vice versa. Under the MOU, students and staff members with creative ideas will be incubated and supported to carry out start-up businesses under the Origin Khon Kaen Valley Project. This is similar to Silicon Valley in the US (which is one of the most significant incubation resources for innovations). Targeted faculties of KKU will join, such as the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, the Faculty of Architecture. This group will pilot programs in which students will be sent to train in skills and experiences from Khun Peerapong Jaroon-ek, Managing Director of Origin Property Public Company, who is an alumnus of Khon Kaen University, a businessman with vision and owner of a ten-thousand million worth business. This MOU is an important beginning that will open up a chance for students to learn with entrepreneurs at the real place. Finally, Khon Kaen City will be promoted as a hub of talent of the country, or a resource that incubates high-potential workers who are capable for international competition.
