Khon Kaen University’s voluntary students went to help Khon Kaen Red Cross members to pack articles for people affected by flood and discussed assistance plans.
October 10, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. – Khon Kaen University, led by Ajarn Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs; Mr. Chumporn Para, Director of the Communications Division sent 70 students and staff to the Civil Pavilion of Khon Kaen City to help Khon Kaen Red Cross members pack 3,068 sets of articles for the flood victims in the city. They also discussed the assistance plans together. The team also consisted of staff members of the Communications Division and the Division of Student Development and Alumni Relation.
Ajarn Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs explained that Khon Kaen University has held a philosophy in social devotion for a long time. There have been many activities that the University has carried out with Khon Kaen Province. This project is another activity of social devotion during the critical time. It also makes the students possess social dedication awareness. During the time of difficulties, Khon Kaen University always cooperates with governmental and non-governmental sectors to conduct activities that assist the people who are facing hard time.
“Preparation of the aid packages with the Red Cross members is done with the help of our students. Therefore, the activity is good in enhancing conscience among the students. They learn to help others in time of trouble. When there are hard situations happening, the University joins with the private and governmental sectors to help the people,” said the Assistant to the President for Special Affairs.
The Assistant to the President for Special Affairs took this opportunity to discuss with the Governor of Khon Kaen, Mr. Kraisorn Kongchalad and the members of KK Red Cross, led by Mrs. Kannika Kongchalad, on the cooperation to be carried out together to assist the flood victims and those who are facing hard time from the flood.
Mr. Patipon Harusaeng, a second year student majoring in social science of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, said that when he learned about the voluntary project, he asked his friends to join the activity. He himself is from Khon Kaen and has followed the news about the flood for some time. He also wanted to spend his spare time beneficially for the others. That was why he joined the project.
“After joining this project, I feel happy to see friends and many organizations coming to give a hand. I can see that people here do not leave others behind. In this critical time, I’d like to send my support to those affected by the flood, whether it is in Khon Kaen or other provinces. I hope all will pass through the crisis well.”
There were also other organizations, governmental and private, such as the 23rd Regional Army, Sripatcharin Camp, the 8th Military Unit, the Border Patrol Police 2, and military students of Khon Kaen army.
