A group of junior art students majoring in packaging, product and exhibition hosted seminar entitled, “KKU Linkage for SMEs Competitive Competency: Phase 1”, aiming to obtain new ideas on packaging designs for small and medium enterprises in Khon Kaen. The seminar was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitichai Triratanasirichai, the KKU president and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Choopong Tongkamsamoot, the Architecture’s Dean, reported the objectives of the program. The participants were students, project organizers and business owners. The seminar members discussed ideas about interior design, goods displaying, branding and image improvement of the SME in Khon Kaen. The program is based on the collaborations from different social sectors including, Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce, KKU’s Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, and the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts. The project is aimed to help improve the SMEs enterprises in 10 communities in Khon Kaen namely, Ban Toom, Ban Sila, Ban Nonmuang, Karnkeha community, Gangsadan, Khamhai, Pralab, Tapra, Sritan, and Ban Goh community.
At 11.30 a.m., Asst. Prof.Dr. Chamnan Boonyapoothiphong, the chairman of design, presented about the measures to be used for the improvement of the SME’s image. At 13.30 p.m., Asst. Prof. Dr. Duangchan Nachaisin and her students consisting of Ms. Gitiwan Kohyoon, Ms. Warapon Sitipragon, and Ms. Oranat Chiangsanoi, exhibited their measures for graphic design to promote the image of SME in Khon Kaen. The team was assigned to take care of five groceries including Komgrit Shop, Ton-oy Minimart, Tamapreuk Shop, Ponprapanit Shop and Panida Shop.
