The 1st year of reflection on Induction Program of northern Isan

   On January 5-6, 2019 the activities for reflection on the results of the 1st year of Induction Program in northern Isan was held by the collaboration of 19 institutes in northern Isan at the Faculty of Education, which was the host of these activities.  

   Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha, Dean of Faculty of Education, presided over on behalf of president of the hub for Induction Program of other institutes in northern Isan. Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattawan Narjaikaew, Dean of Faculty of Education, UdonThani Rajabhat University, remarked opening speech.

   Since Induction Program has been proceeded completely for 2 years, activities for reflection on the performance of the 1st year of this program was organized so that teachers attending this program could be ready for teaching in the 21th century. Moreover, they could create and share their institutes’ innovation of learning management with the use of Lesson Study and Open Approach that became tools for developing teachers and improving critical thinking. These activities also allowed each hub of institutes present their projects that enabled knowledge exchange within its network.   

   Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha revealed, “Objectives of these activities are to prepare teachers attending this program to be ready for teaching, to strengthen the network joined by this group of teachers who have been recruited as assistant teachers in northern Isan, and to allow teachers to present their projects for exchange of knowledge. These activities can enhance skills and potential of teachers, and teacher development is greatly important. Therefore, this learning community is a place where teachers can get together to exchange their innovation for improvement of learners and professions.”

   The activities consisted of special talk on “Open approach Lesson Study : An Authentic PLC Practice in School” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha, and Open approach Lesson for different subjects: mathematics, science, social studies, Thai language, computer studies, physical education, and dancing art. Moreover, there was an activity for poster presentation on classroom innovation, and over 400 teachers from the 1st year of Induction Program participated in the mentioned activities.
