Today (November 14, 2024) from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University organized the Loi Krathong activity for the academic year 2024 to continue the Thai traditions and culture. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, was honored to be the chairman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Chakrapeng, Deputy Dean of the Demonstration School and Educational Innovation Development, along with many school administrators. There were more than 800 parents and students of the Demonstration School, Khon Kaen University, Kindergarten Division, at Bueng Si Than, Khon Kaen University. The activity started from the Demonstration School, Khon Kaen University, on the west side next to the Demonstration School, Kindergarten Division. Students, teachers, and parents dressed in Thai cultural clothing and headed to Bueng Si Than. They were taken care of by the Prevention and Security Division who facilitated traffic control along the way. Then, the children floated the Krathong and released fish at the edge of Bueng Si Than together. Ms. Anuthida Sriwarom, guardian of Miss Phimbun Sriwarom, Class 1/6, a student at the Demonstration School, Khon Kaen University. The kindergarten department said, “I feel good that the school sees the importance of preserving Thai traditions, teaching children about customs by learning from real participation in activities from making Krathongs, teaching them about the meaning and origins of the Loi Krathong tradition, to bringing Krathongs to ask for forgiveness from the river.
