On January 14, 2024 at 03.00 a.m. at Kanlapaphruek Road, Kanchanaphisek Multipurpose Convention Center, Khon Kaen University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening ceremony of the “19th Khon Kaen International Marathon” or “Khon Kaen International Marathon 2024 (KKIM2024)”, along with Mr. Phanthep Saokosol, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province, university executives, Khon Kaen provincial executives, Khon Kaen City Municipality executives, and sponsors, jointly released the runners. This year, there were runners from 42 countries, including 8,000 Thai runners from all regions, participating in the 42.195-kilometer marathon, with 1,600 runners participating, the 21.10-kilometer half marathon, with 2,600 runners participating, and the 11.55-kilometer mini-marathon.
