Faculty of Education, KKU moves forward to develop a center of excellence to elevate education, plans a strategy to drive the education system to international standards.
On January 26, 2025, the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University organized a workshop on “Planning and Strategic Planning to Support Centers of Excellence in Education” at the Rajavadee Resort and Hotel, Khon Kaen Province. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, presided over the opening ceremony, along with executives, center directors, and center executive committees. The main objectives of this activity are to set the direction and develop centers of excellence in 3 areas: • Center of Excellence in Coding and Digital Citizenship Human Resource Development • Center for Commercial Education Innovation • Center for International/Global Education Innovation Research. The establishment of these 3 centers is part of the strategy that focuses on creating educational innovations, developing high-quality human resources, and expanding international cooperation networks to support the goals of Khon Kaen University and respond to the country’s sustainable education policies. This training was honored by the presence of distinguished speakers, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Poolsak Kosiyaporn, Deputy Director of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Ms. Chaturaporn Chokphu Khiao, Assistant Director of the National Science and Technology Development Agency, who shared their knowledge and work experiences, both in terms of setting goals (Vision) and strategic planning guidelines in line with the university’s vision. The speaker also emphasized the importance of setting clear goals to create an effective operational framework and suggested flexible working methods to accommodate future changes, which are key to driving the Center of Excellence to meet the needs of the country and the world stage. The establishment of the Center of Excellence not only creates opportunities for in-depth educational development, but also is an important step that reflects the Faculty of Education’s intention to drive the Thai education system to be on par with international standards, both in terms of creating new knowledge, developing high-quality personnel, and strengthening international networks.
