Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organized the “Orientation for Dental Students, Batch 40” project during March 24-26, 2025 at the Nithipawee Srisuk Conference Room, 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Chalermprakiat Building. The project aims to prepare graduates before stepping onto the path of becoming full-fledged dentists through activities that enhance knowledge, abilities, and skills in many dimensions, preparing for the professional world through potential enhancement activities. Activities within the project cover academics, professions, ethics, and adapting to the working society. There are useful lectures and workshops, such as financial planning and life insurance investment for financial freedom by Dr. Phawat Ruangchirayot and Mr. Atsawapat Atsawabunyawat, Art of Living Finale by Assoc. The first step towards becoming a teacher at KKU. The project to develop the potential of new teachers in 2025 instills values, supports competencies, and drives the organization towards common goals.

On March 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., the Human Resources Division of Khon Kaen University scheduled the First Steps to Higher Education Lecturers Project for the fiscal year 2025. Asst. Prof. Dr. Phatthawit Phonphinij, Vice President for Human Resources, presided over the opening ceremony and Mr. Statit Kaewbutta, Director of the Human Resources Division, gave a project report. More than 70 new lecturers and staff joined the project at the Sirikunakorn Meeting Room 3, 2nd floor, Sirikanakorn Building, Office of the President, Khon Kaen University. Asst. Prof. Dr. Phatthawit Phonphinij, Vice President for Human Resources, said that the project aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the direction, university administration policies, rules, regulations, and various benefits that new lecturers in higher education should know, create awareness of roles, responsibilities, and expected competencies in the position, create cooperation and networks between new lecturers from different faculties and departments, and instill values and cultures of Khon Kaen University for personnel to develop their own potential to drive Khon Kaen University towards its goals. Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organized a special lecture to prepare for TQC (Thailand Quality Class), covering important work approaches such as 🔹 Ready-to-use quality information. 🔹 Cyber Security – Cyber security, which is a key issue for the university. 🔹 Supply Chain Management – connecting the work of hospitals, health information systems (Hexa, HIS), dental labs, infectious waste companies, as well as educational and research collaboration with partner universities. 🔹 Student Engagement & Student Journey – Guidelines for developing student experiences for better engagement and learning quality, which are new topics that have never been presented before and are appropriate for the context of the Faculty. 🔹 Safety Psychological Organization – Guidelines for creating an organizational culture of psychological safety, which is the heart of risk management and monitoring of performance. The event was honored by Asst. Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University organizes ISO 30401:2018 training, aiming to develop into a learning organization.

February 6-7, 2024 - Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University organized a workshop on "ISO 30401:2018 (Knowledge management system)", honored by expert speakers from SGS (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to provide knowledge to lecturers and staff of the Faculty of Education and Demonstration School, Khon Kaen University, with Asst. Prof. Dr. Prakritiya Thaksino, Deputy Dean for Strategy and Organizational Development, presiding over the welcoming ceremony for the lecturers and opening the training. ISO standards are international standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization to set international standards for products, services, and systems to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. ISO 30401:2018 covers key elements of a knowledge management system in terms of organizational context, leadership, planning, support, implementation, performance evaluation, and improvement. Applying this standard will help the Faculty of Education have a systematic framework for knowledge management, which is a valuable asset of the organization. This training has created tangible benefits for the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University. The personnel have learned and understood the principles of systematic knowledge management according to ISO 30401:2018 standards, which can be applied to develop routine and academic work effectively. 10-14 Feb., KKU opens online applications for permanent lecturer-type university council members to compete in the election on 25 Feb.

Khon Kaen University is now accepting applications for those who wish to apply for the election of the University Council members in the category of permanent faculty (replacing vacant positions) via digital channels from February 10-14, 2025. Download the application form from the Khon Kaen University Council Office website https://council.kku.ac.th/ and fill in the information and attach the documents completely, sign the digital signature correctly, and send the application documents in PDF file format to meeting@kku.ac.th within the specified time. Those who wish to apply for the election must have the qualifications of being a permanent faculty member of Khon Kaen University, hold an academic position from Assistant Professor or above, and not be affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Medicine, and must have at least 5 years of teaching experience from the date of appointment to the last day of the application. In addition, the applicant must not hold an executive position in the university, not be under investigation for serious disciplinary offenses or have been severely punished, and not be an election committee member. Meanwhile, eligible voters can check the list between February 10-14, 2025, and can request to edit/add to the list within February 14, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by notifying the Election Committee of the parent organization or by email. meeting@kku.ac.th The list of candidates and voters will be announced on February 21, 2025, before Election Day. Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organizes a workshop on “LEAN Cost Management Supply Network” aiming to elevate the organization to TQA standards.

Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organized a workshop on “LEAN Cost Management Supply Network” on January 30-31, 2025 at the Continuing Education Lecture Room, 7th floor, Chalermprakiat Building 6, to prepare for the TQC Plus Excellence Award assessment. Asst. Prof. Dr. Achirawut Suphanphet, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, said that this training focuses on organizational development according to the TQA criteria, which is an important mechanism for elevating all aspects of operations, including administration, academics, research, teaching and learning, and nursing services. The training was honored by qualified speakers, Asst. Prof. Kittipat Chirawatwong and Asst. Prof. Saowalak Sukprasit, National Quality Award assessors, with Asst. Prof. Dr. Ratchada Chaijit, Deputy Dean for Strategy, as the facilitator. In addition to faculty personnel, the participants were executives and quality planning and organization development teams from various faculties of Khon Kaen University, such as the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Education, College of Local Administration, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Medical Technology, and Faculty of Law, as well as external agencies of the university. Local Administration College, Khon Kaen University, organized the COLA Town Hall Meeting 2025 to continuously listen to the voices of students.

Recognizing that “students” are the “heart” of “COLA”, a creative listening and suggestion space has been designed based on the Town Hall Meeting concept that has long been popular in the community culture of Western countries. It is considered a basic mechanism for creating direct citizen participation in a democratic society. On January 30, 2025, the College of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University, organized the “COLA Town Hall Meeting 2025” activity, the 1st time/2025, at the Phisit Khamnuansilp Meeting Room, to provide an opportunity for first-year students of all programs to exchange ideas and reflect on their perspectives on the future development of the college. It focuses on creating a common understanding among administrators, lecturers, and students, as well as being a forum for students to participate in proposing development guidelines, including teaching and learning, extra-curricular activities, and facilities within the college. Faculty of Education, KKU moves forward to develop a center of excellence to elevate education, plans a strategy to drive the education system to international standards.

On January 26, 2025, the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University organized a workshop on “Planning and Strategic Planning to Support Centers of Excellence in Education” at the Rajavadee Resort and Hotel, Khon Kaen Province. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, presided over the opening ceremony, along with executives, center directors, and center executive committees. The main objectives of this activity are to set the direction and develop centers of excellence in 3 areas: • Center of Excellence in Coding and Digital Citizenship Human Resource Development • Center for Commercial Education Innovation • Center for International/Global Education Innovation Research. The establishment of these 3 centers is part of the strategy that focuses on creating educational innovations, developing high-quality human resources, and expanding international cooperation networks to support the goals of Khon Kaen University and respond to the country’s sustainable education policies. This training was honored by the presence of distinguished speakers, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Poolsak Kosiyaporn, Deputy Director of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Ms. Chaturaporn Chokphu Khiao, Assistant Director of the National Science and Technology Development Agency, who shared their knowledge and work experiences, both in terms of setting goals (Vision) and strategic planning guidelines in line with the university’s vision. The speaker also emphasized the importance of setting clear goals to create an effective operational framework and suggested flexible working methods to accommodate future changes, which are key to driving the Center of Excellence to meet the needs of the country and the world stage. The establishment of the Center of Excellence not only creates opportunities for in-depth educational development, but also is an important step that reflects the Faculty of Education’s intention to drive the Thai education system to be on par with international standards, both in terms of creating new knowledge, developing high-quality personnel, and strengthening international networks.

The KKU Council approves a budget of 260 million to purchase a replacement radiation machine to improve treatment for cancer patients in the Northeast.

Khon Kaen University organized the 11th/2024 Khon Kaen University Council Meeting, chaired by Dr. Narongchai Akkaraseni, president of the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, president of Khon Kaen University, and university executives. The meeting was held at Sarasin Room, 2nd floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University in November 2024. Asst. Prof. Dr. Thara Thammaroj, vice president for administration of Khon Kaen University, revealed that the council meeting approved the purchase of a high-energy particle accelerator or radiation machine for treating cancer patients, worth 260 million baht, supported by the national budget of 130 million baht and income from the university and the Faculty of Medicine of another 130 million baht, to replace the old machine that was damaged, which will significantly increase the efficiency of providing services to cancer patients in the region. “This purchase will be of great benefit to cancer patients in the Northeast, especially low-income patients who use the gold card and NHSO rights. Although it does not generate much income, it improves the quality of life of patients and reduces pain.

KKU opens smart flower farm, made by students, pushing agricultural innovation to become a landmark of Northeastern Agricultural Day 2025

On January 22, 2025, the Department of Innovative Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, organized the opening ceremony of the Innovative Agriculture Exhibition and the opening of the KKU Smart Flower Farm 2025 plot, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darunee Chotithayangkun, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, executives, lecturers, and students attending the event at the Agricultural Technology Park, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Darunee Chotithayangkun, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, said in the opening ceremony that KKU Smart Flower Farm 2025 is an intelligent flower farm set up as a learning resource for students in the innovation program and exhibition. It has received a budget support from the Office of Higher Education Commission (OHEC) to produce graduates who are ready to use by training real-world skills. In addition to being a learning resource for students, it has also been designed to be a new landmark of the Northeastern Agricultural Fair, a relaxing spot that inspires visitors. Reflecting the image of modern and sustainable agriculture, Mr. Phachon Kaewhong, President of KKU Smart Flower Farm 2025, said that this project was the result of the collaboration of faculty members.
