December 24, 2020 at 15:00 p.m. at Khon Kaen University Science Park – Assoc Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University and the administration team welcomed Mr. Don Paramatwinai, Deputy Prime Minister, who came to Khon Kaen to monitor and follow up the official work in the provincial group in the middle Northeast and the 12th Official Investigation Zone (Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, and Roi-et). Khon Kaen University presented the Deputy Prime Minister on this occasion the research and innovation works and the role in upgrading the economic foundation of the Northeast
Upon his arrival at 15:00 p.m. Mr. Don Paramatwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and the delegates visited 10 exhibition booths of research and innovations of Khon Kaen University, which were shown at the conference halls on the first and second floor. The project leader of each research work and innovation welcomed the delegation and explained the detail of the work and the progress in utilization of the research result and innovation for national development. At each booth, examples of the products were shown. The Deputy Prime Minister asked questions and gave suggestions to project leaders before entering the meeting room to meet with the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors of Institutes and Centers. Here, Mr. Sattha Kochapalayuk, Khon Kaen Vice Governor was also present.
Assoc Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University said in his welcoming speech that Khon Kaen University was pleased that the Deputy Prime Minister, and the team of inspector generals from the Office of the Prime Minister came to Khon Kaen University. KKU is aware of the importance in academic, research, and innovation development that have social and commercial benefits and will lead to the national competitive competence. Khon Kaen University also sees the importance of new technical and technological promotion for sustainable development and has collaborated with the region in applying and transferring bodies of knowledge to the communities. One goal of the work is to make Khon Kaen a true Smart City.
There were 10 exhibition booths that presented the research works and innovations, namely, Solution of Liver Fluke Disease and Cholangiocarcinoma, Chronic Renal Disease Prevention Project, Poverty Mitigation Project, Smart Farm exhibition, Smart City exhibition, Science Park exhibition, Food and Farming Innovation, Innovative Medical Examination Set exhibition, exhibition of products from research of KKU, and BCG exhibition (Hythane battery and bioplastics).
Mr. Don Paramatwinai, Deputy Prime Minister said that Khon Kaen University is the academic center of the Northeast. He perceived on this occasion the success in research works in many fields including medicine and sciences. He was able to see the enthusiasms of KKU professors and students in many dimensions, especially in many Startups, which he would find supporting channels and believed the government would also try to support these projects, all of which are interesting and should be extended towards their utmost benefits.
Assoc Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University gave a report on the operations of Khon Kaen University and the role in development of the Northeast in terms of economic upgrading at the foundation level. At the end, the delegates visited the SCOPC: Smart City Operation Center.
