COLA & Com. Sci. develop a cross-curricular program – an MPA in Digital Governance – drawing external experts to join the curricular critic in accordance with KKU Education Transformation Policy

College of Local Administration and Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Sciences join in developing and improving a master’s degree program of public administration (MPA) that emphasizes Digital Governance. The program is designed to be instructed in a modular system and is a cross-curricular program according to KKU Education Transformation Policy.

October 28, 2020 at Vittayavipas 3, Department of Computer Science, Vittayavipas Building, Faculty of Sciences, Khon Kaen University – The College of Local Administration led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Peerasit Khamnuansin, Dean of the College and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siraphat Chiawchanwatana, Head of Department of Computer Science of Faculty of Sciences held a meeting for revision of the Public Administration Curriculum (The Amendment Version 2021), which is a newly revised program by the two institutes. Two experts, namely Mrs. Airada Luangwilai, Deputy Director of Office of Digital Government Development and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerasak Khruathep, a professor from Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University came to give ideas and recommendations on the new curriculum.

The master’s degree program of Public Administration Curriculum (MPA) in Digital Governance is designed to link with other degree programs as well as non-degree programs of the two faculties and other curricula in Khon Kaen University. The new program has been designed to be in line with the changes and the trends of the world in the new era in which a lot of digital technologies rule and have impact on the adjustments of the governmental sector, the private sector and other organizations that provide public services. Learners will receive knowledge and understanding both theoretically and practically that will enable them to develop innovations in public services through the use of digital technology. This can be applied in implementation and development of policy-based models. The outstanding part of this program is that it opens a chance for interested people from all fields to study. They will be exchanging ideas and develop innovations in public service work using digital technology at a broad circle. It is expected that this program will be open and enroll the first group of students in 2021.
