Dr. Somsak Jungtrakoon said, “Khon Kaen is not only the center of Isan because of the geological location, but it is also the education and technological center because it is home for Khon Kaen University and many other universities. There are good public utilities and facilities in the city center. Many bus lines are operating around the city as well as many hotels ranging from economy prizes to the high-end ones. These are the elements behind the potentials of Khon Kaen. During the past ten years, Khon Kaen therefore has held many big events, conferences and seminars until TCEB established Khon Kaen as the 5th MICE city of Thailand. TCEB now supports and promotes many MICE industries. This book fair and stationery fair also represent the readiness of Khon Kaen to become a MICE CITY.”
“It is already known that Thai people read less, while statistics show more electronics reading. Reading is the basis of learning, and learning is the basis of quality people. Therefore, if Thai people read more, we will learn more. The country will then grow and prosper. The cooperation to hold ISAN BOOK FAIR this time can be thought as making the country prosper and increasing the quality of Isan people, as the concept of this fair “Build Isan Society as a Reading Society,” Dr. Somsak Jungtrakoon said.
