July 30-31, 2020 at Ban Kong TAO, Nongrua District, Khon Kaen – Office of Academic Service trained the community people, TAO officers and the ministrys officers in cloth and flower decoration for various ceremonies
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kiat Saengarun, Director of Office of Academic Service presided over the opening ceremony of the project: “Cloth Flower Decoration for Ceremonies, which ran from July 30 thru 31, 2020 at Ban Kong Sub-district Administrative Organization, Nongrua District, Khon Kaen. The training was aimed to build bodies of knowledge and skills for community people so that they can apply in their occupations and earn incomes for their family. The training was honoured to have Khun Julalak Nuangjan from the Ratanapa Center for Women and Family Development, Khon Kaen as the trainer. Among those attending was Assoc. Prof. Ampon Honak, Chairman of the Following-up Committee of Academic Service Project, Khon Kaen University.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kiat Saengarun said, “This training expects the community people, TAO officers and the ministrys officers to have the knowledge and skills in making cloth and flower decoration for different ceremonies and rituals. When complete, the trainees should be able to do it as the side occupation and earn incomes for their families.”
On the first day, the participants learned to decorate tables with cloth in beautiful patterns starting from basic patterns to drapes, flowers, etc. On the second day, the training featured arranging cloth for backdrops, stages or arches, arranging flowers in vases for household decoration. The final session was making garlands from pa khaw ma as a souvenir.
The participants’ finished items were given to Ban Kong TAO. Mr. Yothin Srinongmek, the President Ban Kong TAO represented the TAO to receive those items and closed the training.
