KKU and NRCT organize training session on managing knowledge from research for community

Khon Kaen University and National Research Council of Thailand organize training session for knowledge managers utilizing knowledge from research for community

     On October 29, 2019 at Rachawadee Resort and Hotel, Office of the Northeast Researcher Network, Khon Kaen University together with National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). This training program was presided over by Mr. Sompratana Suktawee, Deputy Director of NRCT. Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Nongkhai Campus; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutipong Uriyapongson from the Faculty of Agriculture; and over 80 participants who were lecturers and researchers attended the training session.

     The objectives of this session were to increase the number of researchers and innovation developers, improve potential of all involving people so that they could apply knowledge from research to communities, and promote the way to live together in the same community.

     Mr.Sompratana Suktawee said that researchers and innovation developers development project by NRCT had started from the meeting of experts and the committee with the objectives to encourage research network to participate in the development of the country. NRCT therefore collaborated with Office of the Northeast Researcher Network, Khon Kaen University in hosting this training session.


     “Thailand has been caught in the middle income trap for 20-40 years. Although the country’s income is higher, Thailand’s has been considered as a high-income country. One way which is important for solving this problems is promoting autonomous learning habit and ability to keep up with the world changing rapidly, introducing new technology to business for greater productivity, and supporting on research. We highly expect that this training session will be one of factors developing people’s potential in conducting research that makes Thailand sustainably become a high-income country.”

     Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee stated Khon Kaen University had shifted its form of academic services from social responsibility to mutual values. This session directly corresponded to this policy because KKU was ready with knowledge and staff, so what KKU had can develop communities and the country. 

     The training includes sessions in theory and practice. Participants were divided into 2 groups – the first group started from October 29-31, 2019; and the second one from November 25-26, 2019.
