The 51st Anniversary of Faculty of Education is marked by ICER2019 Conference

Faculty of Education celebrates the 51st anniversary by holding the international education conference ICER2019 aiming to create a new research momentum and educational innovations for the new generation 

     September 25-27, 2019 – Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University held “The 12th International Conference on Educational Research (ICER2019)” to celebrate the faculty’s 51st anniversary. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., Advisor to Acting President of Khon Kaen University presided over the conference opening and conveyed the opening address. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sumalee Chaijaroen, Dean of Faculty of Education presented the reporting speech. The conference was held at Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University. 

     ICER2019 was held this year under the theme: “Thinking about Education for The Next Generation: New Generation’s Pedagogy, Technology, and School Improvement”. It was the venue for researchers, scholars, teachers and professors, and graduate students in education both in Thailand and abroad to learn and share their knowledge and build collaborative networks in different fields. The event also enabled plans to accommodate the challenges of the technology-based era that have a lot of impact on our lifestyles and the present-day teaching and learning. 

     The conference was honored to have Prof. Dr. Kanok Wongtrangan to give a special talk on “Education for the Future World: New Thought on Subject Contents, Instructional Approaches and Technologies”. A number of special talks were given in the conference: Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., Advisor to Acting President of Khon Kaen University on “KKU Education Transformation for the Next Generation”; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulthida Tuamsuk, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on “Development Students’ Performance through KKU Smart Learning Innovation”; Prof. Ju-Ling Shih from National Central University, TAIWAN on “STEAMing the ships for the Great Voyage – The innovative design and practice of an interdisciplinary education”;  Prof. Morris S. Y. Jong from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, HONG KONG on “Leveraging Mobile Technology to Facilitate Outdoor Social Inquiry Learning: The EduVenture Experience”; and Prof. Wong Lung Hsiang from National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, SINGAPORE on “Technology-enhanced and Seamless Language Learning Space in the Age of Mobile Connectivity”.

     ICER 2019 this year was a collaboration of Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University; Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Education, the Philippines; State University of Surabaya, Indonesia; Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa; Institute of Learning Innovation, Mahidol University; Faculty of Industrial Education, King Monkut University of Technology Northern Bangkok; Technology and Art Media College, Chiangmai University; and Electrical Engineering Academic Association (Thailand).

     Researchers from 8 countries: Bangladesh, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa, China and from various institutions all over Thailand presented their research works. The presentation was divided into two major sessions: oral presentation of over 100 studies and poster presentation of over 40 studies. Over 200 teachers, professors and educators participated.
