Wednesday February 14, 2024 – E-saan Poll, E-saan Center for Business and Economy Research, Faculty of Economics, Khon Kaen University, revealed the results of the survey on “The 60 Years of Khon Kaen University and E-saan people”. The sample group rated Khon Kaen University in different aspects. From the full score of 10, the quality of graduate preparation was rated 8.6, the research and innovation was 7.9, social dedication was 7.9, and the importance in E-saan development during the past 60 years was 8.5.
The group of people mostly impressed in Khon Kaen University is the group of people whose children used to study at Khon Kaen University. The impression is at a high level (93.3%), followed by the group of bachelors’ degree graduates (89.5%), and the present students, who show 75.2% impression.
The periodical market at the Golden Jubilee Center is the activity mostly impressed by the respondents, who scored this activity at 78.3%, followed by the Degree Conferral Ceremony at 77.1%, and the Isan Agricultural Fair at 76.3%.
Assoc. Prof. Sutin Wianwiwat, Ph.D., Head of E-saan Poll Project explained that E-saan people are confident in KKU’s graduate as the top priority, for Khon Kaen University has launched 55 classes graduates to serve the society, distributed in the governmental and private sectors. These graduates have become high- and medium-level administrators, business holders, and most of them have been successful in their jobs. The economic status of themselves and their families, many of which had been relatively poor, has been changed to a moderate to relatively high-income families. The alumni therefore show their impression of the University at a high level.
“Khon Kaen University has been the brain and intellectual bank in the socio-economic development of the region, especially in medicine and health care, in which Khon Kaen University is outstanding. The works in this regard have benefited the people in E-saan for 60 years. The sample group rated this regional development during the past 60 years by KKU as high as 8.5 out of 10.”
In addition, the 5-year back ranking of Times Higher Education Impact Rankings also reflects KKU’s positive impacts towards the society in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Khon Kaen University is ranked from the first to the fourth in the country from 2019 to 2023, and in 2023 KKU is ranked the 97th of the world.
The researchers and surveyors conducted the survey on “The 60 Years of Khon Kaen University and E-saan People” on February 3-5, 2024, from a sample group of 1,037 people aged over 18 years old in 20 provinces in the Northeast.
