KKU meets with University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston

December 14, 2023 at Sirikunakorn Room 5, 6th Floor Sirikunakorn Building – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Ph.D., Vice President for International Relation; and Asst. Prof. Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; along with administrators and lecturers of the Faculty of Dentistry and Acting Director of the International Relation Division, met and discussed academic collaboration with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), USA, led by Professor Robert ED Spears, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the delegation.

 

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University welcomed the delegates from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, saying that Khon Kaen University is pleased to develop collaboration in academic, research, and medical innovations with UTHealth, especially in AI for healthcare, exchanges of personnel and students, and co-organizing international conferences. The Faculty of Dentistry will be the principle institute connectinging the collaboration in the future.

Professor Robert ED Spears, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of UTHealth thanked KKU President and administrators for the warm welcome, and said that the representatives from UTHealth intend to develop academic collaboration, especially in exchanging instruction and research.

University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is a leading university in the United States, with expertise in multiple  curricula such as in health science, technological sciences, innovations, and is a national leading medical center. Therefore, the university is pleased to join with Khon Kaen University, which is outstanding in medicine as well.

Khon Kaen University and University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston signed an MOU in 2018. The meeting today thus enhanced understanding and strengthening academic collaboration.
