Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, wins the first and second prizes from the Creative Food for Sustainability Competition

Friday June 23, 2023 at 15:00-18:00 p.m. – Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, held the “Creative Food for Sustainability” Competition at the Golden Jubilee Convention Center, Khon Kaen University. On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Araya Chaoruangrit, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty presided over the opening ceremony and delivered the opening speech.

The “Creative Food for Sustainability” was organized along with the two events “60th Anniversary of Khon Kaen University, the University of Innovations for the Society” and the “Food and Agro Tech 2023” Fairs, the latter being in accordance with the goal of BCG innovation products – “Creative Food for Sustainability and the 60 Years of Creativity and Sustainability”. Ten teams joined the “Creative Food for Sustainability” Competition, including those of students, entrepreneurs and the public (3-5 people for one team). Students in the competing team were undergraduate students, graduate students in masters’ degree program and Ph.D. programs as well as students at the certificate and diploma levels from outside institutions. The teams joined the competition because they had the ideas or prototype products that could be categorized under the concepts of: Creative Food for Sustainability, Innovative Food Product, Food Waste Product, Plant-Based Food Product, Future Food Product, and others that corresponded to food sustainability.


First Prize: Bio Tofu Team from the Department of Bio-technology, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Jirawan Apiraksakorn, Ph.D.
Second Prize: Chicky Mo Team from the Department of Food Technology under the supervision of Dr. Nattawong Fuangpaiboon
The two teams from the Faculty of Technology that won the first and second prizes were: the Bio Tofu Team from the Department of Bio-technology, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Jirawan Apiraksakorn, Ph.D. and the Chicky Mo Team from the Department of Food Technology under the supervision of Dr. Nattawong Fuangpaiboon.
The event was honored to have Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise; Khun Apichai Wongsriworapon, Director of Khon Kaen University Science Park; and Asst. Prof. Sirimonporn Thipsingh, Ph.D., Dean of the International College coming to give the prizes to the winners.
