January 6, 2022 – The International College of Khon Kaen University held a press conference to announce the KKUIC Charity Project: The Insider 9 “Music Run Funtiverse” to news correspondents. KKUIC administrators including Asst. Prof. Sirimonporn Thipsingh, Ph.D., Dean of the International College; Assoc. Prof. Watcharin Loilom, Ph.D., Acting Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute and Secretary of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation; Ajarn Lakkhana Hengboriboon, Advisor of the course: International Marketing Seminar; Mr. Kiatikul Khunchampoo, Chairman of the KKUIC The 9th Insider Project, “Music Run Funtiverse” joined to release the news to the news correspondents at Room W301, 3rd Floor, Lecture and basic Skill Development Building, International College, Khon Kaen University.
Asst. Prof. Sirimonporn Thipsingh, Ph.D., Dean of the International College, Khon Kaen University said that Khon Kaen University sees the importance in collaborating with the community and has continuously organized charity events such as the 9th KKUIC The Insider. This Project has successfully achieved its goal every year. This year, IC is going to organize a Marathon event as the situation of Covid-19 has declined. With the more lenient measures, the event can be organized.
The International College has the vision of nurturing diversities in creation of innovations and promotion of creativity, to step forward as a world-class international college. From this vision, KKUIC has launched this activity with the following ideal: “No matter who you are, where you are from, we unite within diversity.” The income from this event will be given, after deduction of the expense, to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in order to provide chances for patients who are in need to receive medical treatment and for them to have better quality of life in the future.
Assoc. Prof. Watcharin Loilom, Ph.D., Acting Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute and Secretary of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation explained that the greatest number of patients with cholangiocarcinoma is found in the northeastern area of the country, due to their eating and living behaviors. Most of these patients are not able to afford treatment. Besides the fun participants will receive from the activity, the income will be used to support the patients. The Foundation always encourages the students who are carrying out this year KKUIC The Insider Project and those who are doing it next years.
Ajarn Lakkhana Hengboriboon, Advisor of the course: International Marketing Seminar added that the “Music Run Funtiverse” is an activity that will result in great benefits. It is not only exercising, but the students will also be able to raise awareness of the danger from cholangiocarcinoma among the people in the community. Donations can be made directly to the Foundation. The money will help developing students’ different skills such as in applying their knowledge in their work, planning, problem solving, and working in teams. The students will be able to use their knowledge and skills in the future.
Mr. Kiatikul Khunchampoo, Chairman of the KKUIC The 9th Insider Project, “Music Run Funtiverse” said that this project is a charity run in the form of Music Run, which is the first of its kind to be organized in Khon Kaen. It will be running at night time with light, colors and music that will demonstrate identity of the concept of Funtiverse, which is from the word Fun (Fun Run – short-distance marathon) and Tiverse from Multiverse, or the world with diversities that will take everyone to the world of music and fun. The event is scheduled on Saturday March 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. The major activity in the KKUIC The Insider 9 “Music run Funtiverse” features two categories of run: 5 km and 9 km. There will be 3 types of music: Mo Lum, Pop music, and EDM, which will be performed on 3 stages decorated according to the style of each. There will be a concert from the famous Safeplanet Band.
