KKU attends the Job-Integrated Cooperative Education, the 12th CWIE that is aimed at sustainable development work of universities

June 5-6, 2022 – Khon Kaen University led by Assoc. Prof. Maitree Inprasitha, Ph.D., Vice President for Education and Academic Service; Assoc. Prof. Prapansak Chaweerach, Ph.D. Director of the Academic Development and Administration Bureau; and Asst. Prof. Piyawat Saipan, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Academic Development and Administration Bureau attended the 12th CWIE Day or the Job-Integrated Cooperative Education that was aimed at propelling universities towards sustainable development. The event took place at Burapa University, Chonburi Province.

The event began with a welcoming address by Mr. Phakaratorn Thianchai, Chonburi Governor and Assoc. Prof. Watcharin Kasalak, Ph.D., President of Burapa University, followed by a reporting speech by Prof. Supachai Pathumnakul, Ph.D., Vice Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Next, Dr. Danuch Tanthoedthit, an assistant member of the Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation presented another reporting speech involving the policy related to the national manpower development and gave the awards for the works of Cooperative Education and Job-Integrated Education at the national level for 2022, followed by a special talk on the policy and implementation of CWIE of the Ministry on the part of the network institutions for cooperative education and job-integrated education in the Upper Northeast areas.

The details of the awards are as follows:

  1. The category of the cooperative education student and job-integrated education with a program and work outcome in the field of humanities and social sciences including outstanding management in this regard – the first runner-up award at the national level for the Upper Northeast Region:

Miss Aranya Thanomsil – Marketing Major, Faculty of Business Administration and Information Technology, Isan Rajamangala University of Technology, Khon Kaen Campus

Work place: VING Intertrade, Co.Ltd.

Project: Expansion of Marketing Channel of VING Brand to increase sale by Online Super Sport

  1. The category of the cooperative education student and job-integrated education with a program and outstanding work implementation in innovation – the first runner-up award at the national level for the Upper Northeast Region:

Mr. Pong-ram Prathumchumpoo, Farm Machinery Major, Faculty of Engineering, Isan Rajamangala University of Technology, Khon Kaen Campus

Work place: Thai Summit Harness, Public Company

Project: Design and Production of Cable Assembly Case and Flat Cable Feeder

Next, Prof. Dr. Wijitr Srisa-an, Chairman of Thailand Cooperative Education Association gave a special talk on, “Partnership for Sustainable Development Goals”. The following session was a forum on “CWIE and EEC Model Type A to Meet Market Demand” by Dr. Orasa Phawapimon, Advisor to the Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; Dr. Apichat Thongyu, Chairman of the coordination working group for personnel development in the Eastern Economic Corridor Human Development Center (EEC HDC), Assoc. Prof. Captain Kanatorn Chamniprasat, Ph.D., from the Institute of Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology; Mr. Thatsapan Suwannathat, from the Institute of Engineering and Innovation, Eastern Rajamangala University of Technology; Dr. Somchai Thai-snguanworakul, President of the Administrative Board of SNC Former, Public Company and Chairman of EEC Industrial Forum. Asst. Prof. Nayot Kurukitkoson, Ph.D., Vice President for the Eastern Economic Corridor Affairs of Burapa University acted as the forum moderator.

The event also featured a visit to the EEC NET Learning Network of Burapa University, the host this year, where CWIE students’ works were presented in 3 groups:

Group 1: EEC Tourism Innovation Lab for presentation of CWIE students’ work outcomes in humanities, social sciences, and management

Group 2: EEC Automation Park for presentation of CWIE students’ work outcomes in sciences, technologies and innovation

Group 3: An Exhibition

The final activities were visits to 3 work places: SNC Public Company at Pak Nam Prasae Community or Small Sea Community, Takhian Tia Community, and Chat Ngaew or Bangsarae. There, the participants were able to talk directly with entrepreneurs and ask questions. The 13th CWIE DAY in 2023 will be hosted by Siam University. Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonwanit, President of Siam University and Chairman of the Cooperative Education for the Lower Central Region, thus received the flag for the next event organization.
