Thesis is the final compulsory course of the design program of the Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University, and the thesis exhibition is part of this course. The students apply the academic information during their preparation for the thesis to design their work. The work has undergone criticisms by the students’ supervisors, and each piece of work has passed through many design steps, giving the students concepts, ideas and methods for the design, or a process whereby each student accumulates both theoretical and practical knowledge, bearing in mind the usage and benefits, and other relevant contexts. The knowledge has been acquired and accumulated during the course of the students’ four years of studies in the design program. And this exhibition demonstrates the work of each student. The steps in the students’ work start from finding the topic of their design from the information and trend, demand and problem in the use of the product in question; the design that is based on research process; and production of the prototype based on analytical results, experimentation and testing of the product, before presentation of the thesis. The 2021 Thesis Exhibition under the theme “Design Dining” included 80 works of: dresses, household utilities, house decorating items, furniture, ceramic, graphic works. All through the 3 days, the exhibition was organized at an open-area zone of the mall, where a lot of customers came to appreciate the students’ works, which were both novel and varied. Most of all, the exhibition layouts by the students were very interesting.
