Khon Kaen Provincial Industry Office joins KKU to hold an online seminar to upgrade research work towards commercial industry

October 20, 2021 – Khon Kaen University led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise; and Dr. Apirachai Wongsriworapon, Director of Khon Kaen University Science Park joined the seminar on “Developing Products from Research, Innovation and Technology for Commercial Industry”. This online seminar was organized by the Office of Khon Kaen Provincial Industry and Khon Kaen University. Over 200 participants attended including entrepreneurs in the area, the education, government and private sectors. The onsite seminar was held at the Main Building of the Northeast Science Park Khon Kaen.  

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University conveyed the welcoming address to Mr. Pracha Meetham, Khon Kaen Provincial Industry Head Officer, the Chairman of the Project, guest speakers and participants. KKU President added that Khon Kaen University is determined to develop quality research work in order to transfer the knowledge to the community for problem solving. This intention has been included as one strategy of the University. The goal is to make research outcomes and innovations of the university, in many fields, useful for the country and lead to high socio-economic values. The end results would also answer the targeted industries of the country. This seminar is a good occasion where we can propel the utilization of the knowledge and research outcomes of the university so that they can be utilized and bring benefits to the national development and to the entrepreneurs in industry so that they can extend the research, innovation and technologies in their businesses now and in the future.

 

Next, Mr. Pracha Meetham, Khon Kaen Provincial Industry Head Officer, conveyed the opening speech for the seminar on “Developing Products from Research, Innovation and Technology for Commercial Industry”. Mr. Pracha added that the objectives of this project are to promote and support the extension of research, innovations, and technologies at a commercial level and to develop the network for the industrial, education, research, government and private sectors so that the research and innovation works can be driven forward towards the commercial level. Khon Kaen Provincial Industry Office sees the importance of this and so is collaborating in this seminar. Four industries are the targets of this seminar, including: manufacturing industry, creative industry, digital technology industry, and supportive industry that involves manufacturing in 7 provinces in the Northeast, namely, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Maha Sarakham, Roi-et,  Sakonnakhon, Nakhonpanom, and Mukdahan.

“Intellectual Properties” by Khun Jiraporn Luangpairin, Manager of the Center for Intellectual Properties, Khon Kaen University

“Enlisting Innovation” by Khun Anantapong Sukket, Manager of the Innovation Promotion for Commercial Level, from Office of the National Science and Technology Development

“Show cases of Universities and Research Works in Commerce” by Assoc. Prof. Kiattisak Sripratheep, Manager of the Center for Cooperation with Industrial Sector, Mahasarakham University

; Asst. Prof. Thipaporn Homdee,

Ph.D., Nakhonpanom University and Asst. Prof. Suphap Kanyakham, Ph.D., Nakhonpanom University. Interesting innovation shown included, for example, automatic mat weaving machine, textile weaving machine.
