Academic Service Bureau, KKU trains personnel in research and article writing, aiming at founding a college

Academic Service Bureau of Khon Kaen University trains personnel on: “Writing Research or Academic Articles from Academic Service Projects, Khon Kaen University”. The project was aimed at strengthening personnel of the Academic Service Bureau in research and article writing to upgrade the Bureau to a College of Art and Science.

July 15, 2021 – Assoc. Prof. Chuchart Kamollert, D.V.M., Director of the Academic Service Bureau presided over the opening ceremony for the training: “Writing Research or Academic Articles from Academic Service Projects, Khon Kaen University”. The workshop was attended by 39 staff members of the Academic Service Bureau, and was aimed at training them to conduct research, transfer technology, and write research or academic articles from the academic service projects in order to upgrade the bureau to a college of art and science. The workshop was honored to have Prof. Anan Phonthani, Ph.D., an expert in agricultural analysis of community potentials as a key speaker and trainer.

Assoc. Prof. Chuchart Kamollert, D.V.M., Director of the Academic Service Bureau said in the opening address, “The Academic Service Bureau carries out work according to the missions of Khon Kaen University Council, especially in education transformation, in which academic transformation should accent creation of shared values (CSV). The Academic Service Bureau has been assigned to construct a Life-Long Learning Program and a New-Normal Curriculum, both at the certificate and degree levels, to be ready to upgrade itself to a College of Art and Science. In order to become such college, the personnel must conduct research work regularly, with support from a funding source. In addition, there will be the academic journal of the Academic Service Bureau of Khon Kaen University to publicize the work outcomes.”

Prof. Anan Phonthani, Ph.D., the key speaker said, “In order for the Academic Service Bureau to become an institution with high quality, the personnel must be able to conduct research regularly until research work is the organizational culture. Making research an organizational culture is not difficult. It necessitates: 1) the research problem from the University Council, or research topics from the community (upstream activity), 2) research performing or technology transfer (mid-stream activity), and 3) writing an article from the research or the technology transfer (downstream activity). These steps are to be done in parallel to the regular jobs. If well planned, having good information, reports can be easily written with reliability.”
